I just figured out what the NFW in the packet trick stands for. It's a rather appropriate response.

It does become pretty apparent what it stands for after you perform it a few times. I need to start carrying it again. I'm just waiting for someone to show up asking what it means.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

I thought NFW was when they ask to examine the cards and you say to them "NFW" (extended of course)

Tyler corbin has a version that might be even better, BUT more moves are involved.
In short, spectator sees 4 jokers front and back.
One by one they turn into kings and then all cards are shown as blank or I show as having mirrors on their faces.
Reagal has a nice version where 4 of a kind turn into 4 jokers then 4 kings.

I always thought it would be funny to do this for magicians: When the trick comes to climax, instead of revealing the 4 aces, you reveal 4 blank cards. On one of them it is written, "Who". On another, it is written, "F******". On another, "Cares." And on the last blank card there is an exclamation mark. Like I said, just as a fun little thing for magicians.

Best,

I enjoy performing this effect alot..but if a person wanted to "fault" it, they could say it has no "build" It's practically over before it even begins.

But that's OK for me, because a lot of the situations I perform in are ones where I only have a few seconds to do an effect. This fits the bill on that point perfectly.
Its like boom, boom BOOM, and it's over. (Wham , bam, thankyou magic man!) And leave them with their jaws agape. Smile

"Not For Wannabees" ?
"Nice For Wizards" ?
"Nifty Far-reaching Weirdness" ?

NFW, NFWMF, NFWA, etc.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

I was reading this Swedish magic magazine, Enigma. In one of the issues, Jason Alfords trick "Twixter" is published. It says in the credits that a while after this had been published in Alford's book, Gary Freed changed the handling sleightly, then sold it as NFW. He then showed it to Jason, and Jason itonically said "I wish I had thought of that", then gary Freed used this as a quote in advertising.
Is this true?

If it is, I rather support Jason Alford.

Twixter is amazing. I like NFW okay, but, Jason Alfords is awesome and is more direct than NFW. I support Alford too. His notes called 'Thinking and Wondering' are a gold mine of some good thinking.
