Hi all,

I am writing to you all as a request I have had to start a project that is
intended to help members of the SAM and their assemblies world wide to be
able to better communicate with each other and to meet other SAM members and
to do so in a way that is free to us all. This idea has spun off into what
we are calling the SAM Skype Directory.

For those who may not know what Skype is, allow me to explain a bit more.
Skype is a little piece of software that allows you to make free calls to
other Skype users (via computer to computer) and really cheap calls to
ordinary phones (land Line). You also have the ability to do conference
calls with multiple Skype users at the same time with out costing you
anything. For more information on Skype and to download the free

Please note that I am in no way connected with skype nor do I receive
anything for talking to people about it. This is just a tool many of us in
the SAM and on the national level have found to be a tool we love and can
not live without. It makes things so much easier for us and we want to share
it with others.

This year at the National Convention, everyone received a Skype kit in their
registration packets. This allows you to download the application and also
came with a simple ear piece toy can use as well. The idea for the SAM Skype
Directory came from talking to others at the convention and when we got
home.

We thought it would be a great way to start a directory to list other SAM
Skype users and list them according to assembly and location. This way
SAM members across the US and the world can be able to talk and communicate
with each other through Skype should they choose to. It would be a way for
assemblies to talk with each other easily.

With this in mind, we are asking any SAM member who would like to take part
in this directory, to send me their name, skype user name, location and
assembly number. This information will be added to the directory and would
be sent out to SAM members only who ask for it. The information would not be
given out to anyone else.

We are hoping that this directory will help in better and easy communication
between SAM members and a way to communicate for free in a fast and
efficient manner.
