I joined IBM at the Convention and

saw that there was Ring in SF which is very close to where I live, albany.

Few days ago, I was going to go to the meeting
(cuz the hp said "Meeting Every last tuseday of the month")

and... called the ring president's # but it was disconnected,

so I called the headquater and they gave me last president's # but

it was also disconnected as well lol

But I stll wanted to go to the meeting and check out whether it is

still active or not

but...

guess what !

I called the Café where the meeting was going to be and

turns out that the Café closed like 2 years ago....

I'm just writing this so you guys don't have to go thru what I have done

lol

ps. the convention was awesome tho!!

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to reactivate the Ring and build something better! Let us know if you need a hand!

REALLY? That sounds awesome!

How I can start the IBM meeting?

I know 3 IBM members because we signed IBM convention together

but that's all I got.

I don't have any SF ring's members' contact information.

What should I do first?

According to http://www.magician.org, the I.B.M. Site, the Albany Ring meets on the 4th Tuesday day of the month at 7:30pm at the Boght Corners Fire House Meeting Room, Route 9 & Boght Road, Latham, NY. THe contact is Helen Patti - No phone number or email given. The Ring's website is http://www.ring186.org

If this information is wrong, contact Sindie Richison at the I.B.M. Office [office@magician.org] and ask her for the contact information and name of the Territorial Vice President [TVP] that covers the Albany area. Your TVP can help you get the Ring back on track.

If your TVP doesn't help you, get back with me and I'll walk you through it or find someone closer to you who can.

There's an Albany, CA? Well that clears up the "What SF is near Albany, NY?!?" question. Smile

Same situation, though. Email Sindie and ask her for the name and email of your TVP. Contact him/her and state that you're interested in resurrecting the SF Ring. The San Fran and San Jose area should be teaming with IBM members looking for a Ring. Part of the TVP's job is forming new Rings and actively supporting the current Rings. The TVP has access to members names and addresses in his area. He/She can help you spread the word when you set up your first meeting.

If your TVP doesn't respond or help, let me know and I'll help you from here.

Ring 38 used to be a great Ring but because of lack of support no longer meets. I'm a past president of the ring.

It is shocking that there is not a Ring in San Francisco- how did that happen?

I am not a member of the I.B.M...yet!! But I plan on it. My question is "How do I find out what rings are available in Russia and where?" My fiancée if from Russia (Ivanavo about 200 miles from Moscow) I will be going to Russia to mary her and live there Hence the reason why I am not a member now. And if no rings how does one start one?
Illusion and magic is the same, if it was possible to achieve the impossible by genuine powers then it wouldn’t be impossible and therefore it wouldn’t be magic. That’s why magic is an art; the art of creating the illusion of the impossible.

The good people at the IBM Headquarters http://www.magician.org can certainly help you find a Ring in Russia. Good luck!!
