Have you received your LR this month? This is April 16,2007 and I still have not received my LR. I have never missed an issue or had one lost in the mail, is it me, or is anyone else experiencing this problem this month?

No, I haven't received mine either.

There is a new editor - hopefully this is just a problem of getting everything started. I hope this isn't the start of a trend....

Nope...still waiting.

I hope this isn't a preview of things to come. When Sammy took over "The Funny Paper" magazine, the delivery date became a HUGE question mark. It was (and still is) delivered on a very irregular schedule. I never know when I will get my next issue!

Hmmm...

The new look to the mag is great. Same style with a bit of new. Great job to the IBM staff.

Putting out a 200-page monthly journal of the quality and reputation of The Linking Ring is a major undertaking that few of us could manage. Let's give Sammy a little breathing room and a chance to find his groove. His first issue promises great things ahead.

Phil Willmarth, the previous LR editor, has been working with Sammy since he was chosen to take over so there would be (hopefully) a seamless transition. Oh well...it was a nice thought, but so much for that idea.

You're right that putting out a 200-page monthly journal IS a major undertaking and well above the capability of most. Don't get me wrong. I like Sammy and think he contributes tremendously to the magical community.

It's unfortunate that Sammy's track record proceeds him in this endeavor given "The Funny Paper" he took over in which the delivery date, even today (I subscribe) after being in charge for some time now, is still questionable. And that magazine has only 64 pages and comes out every TWO months.

Hmmm...

I got mine yesterday too.

Check out that cartoon on page 110. Too bad it was printed in
black and white, since I think it would be even funnier in color.

I wonder if that guy has a website to see more of his "MagicToons"
at??? Check out this one: http://www.jimmyanimator.com/Magictoons2007.htm

Great stuff.

That's okay. Except for checking the IBM, SAM and KIDabra threads once a week or so, I've quit the Café. Grew tired of the bickering, insults and negativity. I sent you a PM with my email address.

Cheers!

I always received mine in the first week of the month for most of my membership (13 years). Then in the last year it starting coming around the 21 of the month. I even had issues of not receiving mine 4 or 5 times within one year. YIKES!!! I contacted Phil Wilmarth and he got me in contact with someone in the office. Since then mine has been coming regularly around the 21st of the month. I wish it was sooner like MAGIC and MUM. I have been told about it being on line, but I like the printed version. Thanks to Phil for getting the missing issue problem resolved. Phil is a great guy and will be missed in the TLR.
Regards,
Jim
