Where can I learn about it, and do I need to be part of IBM?
You know you are a magician when you have boxes full of lecture notes you have never read, but still are excited about going out and buying more.

This will be a good competition. You'll need lots of discipline to do well.

Go for it!

I am eighteen years old, can I compete in the IBM 2006 youth close up?

If so, how can I register?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Magicguy67,
As long as you're an IBM member, it shouldn't matter what meetings attend, (or not attend).

However, since IBM is in part a "social club" it would help if you went to meetings near you to get a feel for what's out there. There is a list of local Rings on the website at http://www.magician.org or if there truly isn't one near you, once you're a member you can join Ring 2100 online. But realistically, Ring 2100 doesn't come close to giving you the "in person" interaction of a real meeting. It's more of a supplement rather than a replacement.
