Free Bet 21

At Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, NV, they are dealing a new single deck 21 game called Free Bet 21.

The way it works is this. If the player has a 9, 10 or 11 two card count and wants to double down, the house will put up the second double down bet for him using a house token chip. If he wins, he gets paid for his original bet, the house token double down bet and gets the house token replaced with an amount equal to his original bet.

For example, if someone is betting $100 and doubles down, the house will put up a token $100 chip. If the payer loses the double down, the house picks up the token and the player's original $100 bet. If the player wins the double down, the house will pay him $300, $100 for his original bet, $100 for the token chip bet and another $100 dollars in exchange for the token chip the house originally put up.

Of course, that is good advantage for the player. How can a casino offer such a great bets for the players? Better yet, if you want to split a pair, other than Aces and eights, the house will also give you a free bet. Seems like they are just giving away money.

Oh wait a minute. I forgot to mention that if the dealer busts and goes over 21 and does so with a total of 22 and only 22 exactly, then all bets are ties and no one gets paid.

Shucks, and I thought this was a player's dream. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

A bookie asked us to give away free bets the other day as a promotional thing for a new betting office opining.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.
