Can someone tell what is the current shuffling procedure in casinos in Las Vegas on a blackjack table. Do they use shuffling machines or if they shuffle by hand what procedure do they employ?

Tegib, since there is many variation of Blackjack, you'll have to be more specific. You can easily understand that you will not shuffle one, two, four or six decks the same way. And from what I've read there is 72 casinos in Las Vegas, so there is probably many difference in the shuffling sequence from one casino to another. In a previous post I asked how the wash was started for a six deck game and there was many way to start the wash. (three or four from memory)

Are the single deck games still being played in casinos? So on average what is the procedure for a six deck game of blackjack.

Single deck games are still being played in Vegas. With the exception of three downtown casinos all pay 6 to 5 on blackjack. Did anyone say chump.

Each casino has a house shuffle and may differ from each other. A standard shuffle for a single deck would be: riffle, strip/up the ladder, riffle, box cut, riffle and then offer the cut to the patron. A box cut is where the dealer takes half and turn them 180 degrees to avoid cards being traced via one way backs. This one way backs come from how the cards are cit and sometimes on the edges one side has more of the diamond design than the other.

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

The Tommy's video is good place to start, to get an idea of what the procedure is. But like said in the video, they'll teach you the BASIC, not the house procedure.

Maybe you can search in some videos took by hidden camera like this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WDIMosWNXs

Unfortunately in this particular one I've not seen a shuffling procedure from A to Z, but if you make a good search and with little luck maybe you will find what you are searching for.

Everyone place is different, single deck and shoe are both different. I have been dealing for 33 years and I have been a dice dealer mainly, but I do 21 and wheel.
Ask me and I will try to give you what I can tell you the best I can.

The easiest is single deck, take the single and strip and then shuffle and strip. Now shuffle, cut or call it a box and shuffle. Now put it out for cut and that's it.
If its the first , then take the deck wash do the whole thing and do it all along.
Im sorry but I am sickly and I have trouble for typing and speaking but I will give the best I can.
Shoes a pain in the ass, lol. I enjoyed single 21 and I could abuse people who were stiffed. If you get to watch some of the old people who could deal single deck its something to watch, not like these bums that deal today, they cant hustle anyone anyway, lol.

If you have any questions, don't hesitant. I will just smack ya in the head !! Smile

I have no intention of cheating the casinos but I was reading some articles from Blackjack forum by Arnold Snyder which talked about percentages and shuffling procedures so I wanted to see how much they have changed over the years.
