I agree with everyone else, I thought it was quite well done. What software package did you use to do the editing?

allan Ackerman Advanced Card Control Vol. #2. Don't know if it is exactly what was done there, but it is a good DVD that teaches various forms of the second, bottom and center deals with a variety of variations.

Hope that helps!

I enjoyed the video. As long as one doesn't require any accuracy or
realism it is a good story. Especially the invention of a new game,
one hole card and 5 up cards. Also the best "slow roll" I've ever
seen when the winning Royal Flush is displayed. I am constantly
amazed at the lack of knowledge that some of today's "card-experts"
have. But because the original post said that it was all in fun, I
will accept that and again say "all-in-all" good work.

Maby you should see the movie shade and then the slow roll at the end wont be so confusing. And also have you never watched any other movies where there is a pause for drama. yeah me neither
you can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but never all of the people all the time.

Sodman12 - I don't know what you came away from my message thinking,
but you sure "confused" me with your response. Where did I say anything
about being "confused" during the video? The first and last sentences
of my post sum up my feelings for the work.
P.S. Please start using the spelling "maybe" instead of "maby". Do not
take offense - I know that it was NOT a typo because you've spelled it
that way elsewhere also. Happy Magic 2 U.

Sure is a high horse you're on there.

There is a game called 6-card stud, FYI... I doubt that was the original intention, but I don't see the need to berate a bunch of young kids who're just starting out in film.

Mr.Z. Thank you for the response. Yes there is (was) a game played
in Nevada casinos many years ago called "six-card-stud". It was however
played with 2 "hole" cards and 4 "up" cards, sorry. There hasn't been
such a game spread anywhere in Nevada for almost 20 years to my knowledge.
I do have a little expertise in this area as I am a supervisor in a large
Las Vegas Poker Room and have been for the last 25 plus years. I began
playing Poker even before turning 21. They were not quite as strict then
as they are now.

I enjoy Poker in all its forms and enjoy watching Poker related stories -
movies, videos etc... Magic and gambling in all of its forms is an
enjoyable hobby for me.

If you will please reread my post you will see that I said that I enjoyed
the video. I also said that "all-in-all" it was a good work. I was
not "berating" the work.
BERATE (def): to scold or condemn vehemently and at length.
<Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary-10th Ed.>.
Do you really think that is what I did? Criticizing perhaps - berate NO WAY!

The video was a work of fiction and therefor artistic license is allowed.
I do think that considering the age of the producer(s) that it was a work of merit. I am constantly amazed at the inaccuracies in the works of the
Hollywood "grown-up" professionals when it comes to the gambling areas.
As long as the "film makers" offer themselves as such and not as "gambling experts" all is well with me. There is way too much of that sort of thing
going on all the time in the magic/gambling arenas as has been discussed
at length on this site already.

Happy magic / gambling whatever 2 U.

No problem Tony. Like I said, I think this little film was merely a few young aspiring magicians trying to do their version of Shade. I don't think we have to worry about the "gambling expert" thing considering none of em looked even old enough to be in a casino.

I don't have the book with me, but I seem to remember a version of 6-stud in Scarne's Guide to Modern Poker with one hole-card and 5 upcards, but I could be mistaken. Antiquated to say the least, at any rate.

Thanks for all the nice replies...

I really liked the camera work here, some of the shots made me think it had a higher production quality than just a home movie lol. the lighting was pretty good in most cases and again, I liked the camera work, but you should have used a boom mic for audio.

Great comedic touch! The guy sneaking the cookie, and then montage of the players playing cards, cut back to the two guys both eating cookies, lol, that was good. Oh yeah the card stuff was good too! Smile
