My formal statement: This entire movie is very knowingly show-bizy. It is a total pop-corn movie, and makes no pretensions as to its accuracy. I fully understand that it in no way reflects the lifestyles or operations of any real-life hustlers who earn their living by practicing and utilising sleight of hand. The entire film is just that, and is ridiculously stylized. It is based more in the world of film than it is in the world of card hustling, and makes no claim to be the latter. If this offends anyone, my sincerest apologies. The film is to card cheating what Raising Caine was to multiple personality disorders: Style over substance, and designed strictly for itself.
