Does anyone know where such a list might be available? It would be really great to know which of the classics I can easily get. Perhaps we could start one, if one doesn't exist.

The original site was hacked and destroyed. Click HERE to read how to obtain the information.
I still recall the day I met Beaker from the Muppets. He said to me "Meep, meep, mee mee mee Meep!", and that has made all the difference.

I keep finding gems in those old books, it's great.
Archive.org is an amazing resource. Just search for keywords. Also Google the Will Alma Collection at Victoria State Library which is searchable and has many books that aren't available anywhere else. Oh and the ask Alexander site is great for old magazines. Sorry, no list.

US Copyright law just put some literature into the public domain... which very likely includes some magic books.

While it will yield some good results. Some of them shouldn't be there, as they're are still under copyright but I cant seem to find out how to have them removed.

The books under copyright are available through a library scheme which makes it legal. Books like 'Ricky Jays Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women', for example.
I'm sure there may be some that are uploads and not in the library scheme which are in copyright, If that is the case then you must report them. But I think you must be the actual holder of the copyright. Ie. The author of the book in question.
I found the following on the site:
