For you mentalists and mental magicians - recently I was lucky enough to get access to a number of Al Mann's materials. Lo and behold, they were wonderful and amazing - well written, with credit given when needed.

What was shocking was that many effects within I have seen in slightly altered forms from some of the big guns in mentalism - i.e. the ones many of us hold in high regard - yet on their DVDs and books - not a mention of Al Mann.... who predated their materials... this includes amazing number forces, skin "reveals" of mental thoughts (those who know what I'm talking about know what that means - and it isn't porno) - design dupes... holy crap.

It is possible some of the new people (?) who put out material did not do their homework - but some people, PEA members and the like - what the heck is up with that?

Likely, I must be missing something - I am sure there must be more to the story... however, I am quite dismayed - especially since many of these gurus talk about proper crediting themselves (especially about themselves).

Live and learn. It does make me think about proper disclaimers when sharing effects that one should always do as good a search as possible, talk to some experts, and add in "if I missed someone, it was not intentional, and I will add in the credit if anyone would like to let me know if there is someone I missed." or something...

Geez.
