Hi guys,
are there any other ways to preform the
'Coin In the Hand' effect other then those by Minch,Robson,Dr Q or Chelman?
i'm looking to combine it with a coin bending effect.

You ask someone to hide a coin in one of his hands.
You tell him which hand has it.

I have seen Derren Brown do this.

It may be on some of his stuff.

Failing that check out who his mentors were.

There is a method in Banacheks Psychological Subtleties that is rather nice.

Stevea,
It's the Robson method {the one from Banacheks Psychological Subtleties}

I only know of the Robson and Minch methods and have not found them particularly useful.

Where did you find the other two Yaniv?

This is Derren Brown's signature effect. Have you seen him do it?

I don't think Derren uses the Robson and Minch methods. On another forum he found it amusing so many magicians were venturing ideas on how he accomplished his effect.

I have not seen him do it, nor do I know his specific methodology, but I have found that the Robson and Minch methods are not great for what the effect is.

It's a neat idea, but probably best left to Derren now, at least in the UK.

I have had sucsess with watching for the tilt of the head,

A good way to learn to read this is to practise on kids, (they are far more exagerated)

Ask a child to place a coin behind their back, and close their eyes, (this is important, close their eyes whilst its behind back)

Then to bring hands out, then open Eyes,

Watch for the tilt as the hands are comming out,

Once you know what your looking for, it's easier to see it,

Good luck,

Fon

I was present at the shooting of one of the pieces for Derren's upcoming MindControl series. It was in a casino, filmed undercover. I was invited to tag along. He did the coin effect with me - and I have no idea how it was done. I asked him to do it, and had a method suggested to me by some people who claimed to know, but he disproved their theory nicely. It's very good.
