I have a Netherland dwarf rabbit who refuses to nurse her babies. I've watched one litter die in a few days last year. She just had a litter of five and seems to want nothing to do with them. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks.

First I would say that it probably just doesn't look like she isn't nursing, but really is.
But since you said some have already died... I guess she really isn't.

I thought mine wasn't nursing once, I went and bought a small animal baby bottle and nursing milk, and hand fed them.
Come to find out, she was nursing them.

But you can always take care of them yourself.

A few things I know:

Some rabbits are BAD mothers.

They just won't nurse their babies.

Or a human touched the babies and she rejects them
and lets them die.

If I had to pick up a baby rabbit I would grab some hay
and rub it on my hands then pick up the baby.

Feel the babies' tummies. If they are round, they are being fed.

If they aren't being fed, you have a new job.
