Hey everyone,

The world record holder for throwing playing cards, Rick Smith Jr, is releasing a DVD with in the next week or so. It will show how to throw cards incredible distances, as well as a lot more with cards. You can see what he has to say about it here: http://ricksmithjr.com/news/index.php?article=21.

Rick has shown me his secret on how to throw playing cards like he does and I have never had better distance.

On top of throwing cards, you will learn different flicks, tricks, and much more! I can't recommend this DVD enough for ANYONE that wants to throw cards like a champ.

Look out for its release some time in about a week!

Regards,

Evan Smile

Sounds great! I will get this one. I love card throwing, and wonder exactly what will be on here. Does anyone have a move/routine list?

I don't have an exact list, but Rick has taught me most of the movs on the DVD. It usually happens because he would be like "Hey Evan, check out this new flick I learned." He would show me, then say "that ones on my DVD."

Let me tell ya, he has said that sequence A LOT to me Smile. Meaning, there is a TON of material on this DVD.

I'll try to get an exact ist from Rick ASAP for you though.

Regards,

Evan

Ok guys, here is your list:

- Card throwing for distance and accuracy
- Hackie flick
- Catching the pop up
- Behind the back flicks
- Pinky flicks
- Classic force
- Flick and catch in the deck
- Rapid fire flicking
- How to bounce cards
- Juggle cards
- Tons more and some tricks that involve the card throwing

This is not a complete list of everything either. There is more on the DVD!

Hope this clears it up a little bit Smile,

Evan

Rick Smith Jr is definitely a world class athlete, as well as world class magician. He throws cards over 200 feet!!! And he holds the world's record for distance.

But throwing them far, is only part of what he can do.

This DVD will set you apart from teh crowd!

The DVD is finished. The only thing is we are having some issues with ***** ***, wanting to sue us for having the watermelon on the dvd. I will keep everyone posted on what happens.

Call me simple, but what is the story behind the watermelon?

He is probably either trying to claim either copyright or trademark infringement, probably claiming that it was his idea to throw cards into fruit. Or it could be a ploy to use his name for the sake of publicity.

I would assume the later. But all you have to do is mention throwing cards and guys like me will buy it regardless.

Hello,
I have a copy of the dvd. I received it yesterday to look it over. I like the way it turned out, it is shorter than expected but has a great deal of information on it. On the video I was teaching 3 different ways to throw into fruits and the watermelon, and banana, but a certain someone, I cant mention any names but it sure sounds like mine will not let the watermelon or banana piece in the video. ANyways, the videos are being printed on monday and will be shipped to magic stores and myself within the next week or so. Sorry for this super long wait, but the video will be here shortly. We were also going to add footage of Ripley's and the Carson Daly show, but permission in the video business sucks. $5000 to have the carson appearnce on the viceo and $15,000 for the ripleys episode. So unfortuneatley they are not on there, but you can find them on the web. Hope everyone enjoys the video, I think its pretty neat.

Card throwing and grips
posture and positioning
Fire Flicking
Rapid throwing
Catching the pop Like McBrides flick
ring finger flicks
FLy out
the flick trick
classic force
false cut
cutting celery in half
snap shot
the swing shot
distance throwing and much more
probably around 25-30 different things to do when throwing cards

Hope to here good reviews soon.

I don't want to sound negative or anything, it sounds good, but why is the classic force on it? Is there some special reason? I just noticed it kind of stood out.
