Title: Neo Change by Daryl Sato
Medium: DVD
Arena: Card sleight
Available: Any shop, distributed by Murphys Magic Supplies

Neo Change by Daryl Sato is a color change that is taught on DVD. The quality isn’t great, Daryl was keeping it real for the street magicians by making sure not to crack a smile or use any personality during the explanation. The sound was okay, there was a background noise which sounded like surf, could have been wind but it was a bit too regular in frequency for wind. The video wasn’t shot with a great camera but it looked like they used a subtle fish eye lens when filming which gave the entire thing a kind of odd look. On the good side you could hear what Daryl was saying and see what he was doing so it turned out better than those dark videos out there.

The Neo Change actually looks pretty good and it is easy to do. Daryl does a nice job with the explanation. The angles are a problem but if your audience is in front of you for the color change looks very nice and your hand is not holding the deck is clean before and after the move. I’m not sure if the sleight required a DVD to teach it as it is pretty simple and perhaps publication in Magic or Genii may have been a better setting for this sleight but if you are looking for a color change that is clean and looks like you are just passing your hand in front of the deck that doesn’t require standard palming this one fits that profile. Do note the whole DVD is only around ten minutes long and, again, I don’t think a DVD was warranted.
