I always put my performing jacket in my clothes bag. I carry it to the venue and dress up there. The question is... The jacket is very easily folded and not straight... I have tried some different kinds of clothes bag, but...

How do you solve this problem?

Pay someone to wear the jacket to the gig. It will stay neat be ready to go.

Have more than one jacket in the bag so it is thicker and less likely to be folded.

If you put your pants on at the last minute you can avoid baggy knees. If you cover your shoes with sox you will not scuff your shine. My only question now is what kind of a first impression will you make when you show up at their door carying your jacket, shoes, and pants.

This is a true story
I did a show at a Hospital with a magician friend of mine Ed Schmidt, so we car pooled. I noticed he had just a sleevless under shirt on under his sports jacket, but I did not say anything. After we parked I started to unload the car, and saw Ed putting on a shirt and tie. He explained to me that he had to have a fresh shirt for every show, so getting dressed in the parking garage made perfect sense to good old Ed.
