Back to Graywolfs suggestion, the glass won't break but to make sure use a polycarbonate glass/goblet. They are "unbreakable". They are available at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, etc. It's also smart in case some one knocks it over backstage or onstage, which is bound to happen.

Target also has the polycarbonate glasses in a variety of shapes and styles.
